Mr. Dawson and his family have been active members of this organization for the past three years. In only his second year with the organization, James was elected by his peers to serve as the Public Relations Officer. In his third and current year with the CCYFA, James has been elected to serve as the Vice President. Through their work with the CCYFA as well as their dedication to agricultural education in Chattooga County, the Dawson’s have been nominated to represent Chattooga County in the state of Georgia’s Farm Family of the year competition. The Dawson Family is also active in local Ag day activities. Mr. Dawson and his family also serve on the Agricultural Advisory Committee at Chattooga High School.

Fund Raising Activities

Mr. Dawson and his family have opened their home and land to the community on countless occasions for the purpose of holding fund raisers for the Gore Fire Department. Mr. Dawson is credited with organizing the first Gore Fire Department Mud Bog & Rock Crawl. Since that time, several successful events have been held in conjunction with the Dawson’s. The Dawson Family is also responsible for organizing a popular community event with the Fall Festival held at Gore Fire Dept.
